The International Tax Academy (ITA) is IBFD's training centre, founded in 1989. It offers a wide range of courses on international tax law and organizes conferences on specialized topics. The ITA is recognized worldwide as a reputable learning centre in the field of international taxation, drawing on the expertise of the multinational IBFD research staff and tax practitioners to provide a unique environment for the study of international tax law.

• Participants acquire, in a short period of time, a thorough understanding of the principles and concepts they need to work within their chosen field of international taxation.
• ITA courses concentrate on the concepts and principles of international tax law. Participants become acquainted with the tools that are essential to their work.
• A limited number of 30 participants in each course with the exception of the Summer Course.
• ITA courses are interactive with case studies and group discussions.
• Participants receive a substantial documentation binder, which serves as a valuable reference source.
• All ITA courses qualify for Continuing Professional Development credits with the UK Chartered Institute of Taxation, Nederlandse Federatie van Belastingadviseurs and the Institute of Taxation in Ireland.

A number of the ITA courses provide a good grounding for several topics of the paper I and III of CIOT's Advanced Diploma in International Taxation.
